Speak English!: Racist Revolt As Coca-Cola Airs Multilingual 'America the Beautiful' SuperBowl Ad

During the SuperBowl, the Coca-Cola Company aired a commercial to promote their brand as every other mega corporation who has a few million dollars to blow on a 30 to 60 seconds of television airtime. It was a nice commercial titled “It’s Beautiful” in which American people did American things…

It’s nice to know that, despite being born here in 1981, there are still some people that would choose to ignore my citizenship in this country solely because of the color of my skin. Additionally, it shames me to the core that others come here thinking the best of our country and then people like this undermine us all with their unnecessary hatred of anyone too different from themselves.

Change of Pace

It’s been a long time. I know this and any person still paying attention to this knows. For the record, the reason why I haven’t updated this in awhile is because I ran out of things I found interesting enough to post here. At the same time, I didn’t want to delete it because I put much personal care into the page in the first place. I was thinking about what I could do with it a few days ago and decided I’ll start using it to showcase my creative side. I’ll post anything from story ideas to full-fledged written deals, depending on what I have done and how I feel at the time. It’s not much but I’ll feel better using this page again, as opposed to just letting it sit here. With that said, enjoy the weekend. As a quick aside, if I ever find interesting things to post again, I’ll just reincorporate it back into the page.

A Bard's Eye View: I debated whether or not to share this story.

And then I debated whether or not to put it on Tumblr…but I decided it was important. Because in my own way, I can (unfortunately) point out exactly what is wrong with men when they don’t realize how hard it is to be a woman. How we do not have equal opportunities and freedoms in…

This is something that MANY people lose sight of when it comes to women’s rights; the fact that there are men out there believing that a woman always owes them attention, that what a woman does is never as important as talking and/or catering to a male and, sadly, are dangerous enough to show rage at any woman that doesn’t “fairly” give them the time of day. The last thing is what leads to those horrible stories of mental, physical and sexual abuse. It’s something that needs to change.

Not Safe for...Anyone, Really

…But the internet compels me to doom people anyway. Click if you dare, because I refuse to explain so the hilarity and/or incredulity can speak for itself.

This is actually quite interesting to me because you can track a multitude of names and even learn a quick little thing about them. It obviously won’t have more unique names but maybe that will change in the future.

The Greenest Green

I am a sucker for an awesome maze shot and the greenery just enhances the two photos overall.

This video encapsulates so many things for me: there is no quit unless you do, there’s always something to fight for and, most of all, sometimes the simplest actions end up meaning the most of you. I’m a big fan of Steelo and just seeing him perform again gave me chills.

I’m pretty sure this increased my love of otters. Also, they cheat. They cheat horribly.

If you didn’t see the people in the shot, it’d be easy to mistake them as a close-up of a sweater or the like.

This is from the most recent t-storm that rolled through the Sacramento area roughly two weeks back. The interesting thing is both pictures were taken approximately twenty-four hours apart. In case anyone wonders, the first was taken with my phone and the second one by one of my cameras.
